Last week, a business forum and trade mission held in the USA and organized by LitFood brought together representatives of the Lithuanian food industry and provided them with a unique opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the U.S. market.
Among the participants was Egidijus Stankus, Head of VG Trading USA, who presented the potential of Lithuanian business in the international arena.
Understanding U.S. Retail Chains
One of the main objectives of this trip and the forum was to visit the largest retail chains in Los Angeles and gain a realistic understanding of the specifics of U.S. retail trade.
As E. Stankus explains, the entire Lithuanian business delegation visited up to ten well-known retail locations, analyzing product assortments, pricing strategies, consumer habits, and market trends.
Targeted meetings were also organized with local retail chains - Jon's Fresh Marketplace and Super King Market. Although there had been no direct cooperation until now, Lithuanian manufacturers already work with these chains through distributor B&I.
Business Presentations and New Opportunities
During the meetings, each company was given only a few minutes to present its activities.
Egidijus Stankus says that although the presentation was brief, he purposefully introduced Viciunai Group, emphasizing the company’s strengths and international experience.
After the presentation, product catalogs were left behind with the aim of expanding the assortment in these retail chains in the future through distributor B&I.
Participation in the NALB Forum
During the visit, the North American Lithuanian Business Forum (NALB) also took place, bringing together a large number of Lithuanian companies and Lithuanian businesspeople living in the United States.
This forum became an important platform not only for sharing experience, but also for establishing new business connections.
E. Stankus acknowledges that several valuable contacts were made during the event, and cooperation opportunities were discussed with existing partners as well.
Such meetings help strengthen the position of Lithuanian businesses abroad and build long-term relationships with international partners.
Strategic Value for Lithuanian Business
This mission once again demonstrated that focused participation in international events and direct contact with the market are essential for successful expansion.
The experience in Los Angeles provided Lithuanian manufacturers not only with practical insights, but also with real opportunities to expand their operations in the U.S. market.
